Friday, July 25th at 6 pm Grants Pass
An Evening with Jeff Golden

UNAFRAID: A Novel of the Possible
"What if John F. Kennedy had survived his wounds in Dallas and gone on to serve two full terms in the .White House? What if the aftemlath - astronomical public approval ratings, a presidential agenda that sails effortlessly through Congress, a parade of the world's most beautiful women through the White House at his whim - moved him to wonder "Is this all there is?" What if he decided to see if America's walk could match its talk?"
Come for a free dinner prepared by Citizens for Peace & Justice. Stay for an evening of good company and stimulating conversation in a lovely Grants Pass home. Jeff, former NPR/JPR talk show host, will be reading, signing and sparking conversation about his new book. Participants are encouraged to go to www.unafraidthebook.com, read excerpts, and bring your ideas and enthusiasm about whatis possible in our world.

Founding member of Citizens for Peace &
Justice, Mary Madsen, travelled to Amman, Jordan in October to continue her
work with Iraqi refugees. Mary, along with Sasha Crow, has founded the
Collateral Repair Project. Please visit The Collateral Repair Project website and see
the important work being done to aid those most deeply affected by this terrible
war. CPJ gives our love and support to Sasha and Mary and their good work. We are so
very proud of her. |

Citizens for Peace and Justice is
a group of people who came together in Medford, Oregon, in March 2003 as a
result of our concern over the pending US invasion of Iraq and our
desire to respond to this in a meaningful way. Peace House of Ashland
helped bring us together to form a group. Our members live and/or
work in Medford and outlying areas of Jackson County, and the organization
is open to all who wish to join us. We are not affiliated with any
religious denomination or political party. |

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket
fired,
signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are
not fed,
those who are cold and are not clothed."
- President Dwight D. Eisenhower April 16, 1953
